How deep do you wanna go? I can get 30' on mono. Below that and rate of mortality escalates exponentially.

In many cases it's not about actually fishing deep (30' +) as much as it's about getting the lures you want to be using to run down a little deeper than they normally would with 10lb mono.

I also really like using a superline where there's snags or weeds because you can often straighten a hook to get the crank back or give it a good snap to get the weeds off.

I still use Spyderwire. Trolling spinners isn't really very high-tech. SW works as good as any other line (IMO). I tie my spinners with mono.

That said, I don't go deep when trolling. Some other lines may be better for that.

I use SW because it's cheap and it works for me. Same with rods and reels. Any decent 7ft rod seems to work. I prefer a level wind reel - for the drag. But, again, I don't need no stinkin' high-tech for trolling.
