Default Cisco mount and a hds 8 on a Tyee...

Greetings All,

I'm really thinking I want to try one of these mounts and am wondering if anybody has one on their Tyee, or a boat with a similar sloping windshield.

If so, how much do you have to push the finder forward to clear the glass.

Thanks in advance,
Rigs

I just installed one in my 2005 1950 yesterday. I had to position it right up to the dashpad to get the clearance needed to adjust the back lever. I am impressed with the quality and sturdiness of the mount. I can email pics later today or tomorrow if you IM your email. Not sure how to post pics yet.

Steve

Default Cisco Mount

OK, will give posting pics a try.

I had a Ram mount on my dash with the LCX-26HD I previously owned – roughly about the same weight as the HDS-8. I was tired if the t-ball trick to keep it from bouncing on the dash and the constant readjusting of the screen after a short trip. From what I have read this does not occur with the Cisco mount, time & a few rough waves will tell.

I positioned the mount to allow for 1 inch on the left side and 1.5” on the right. This allows for tightening the Cisco mount in the back and now that everything is actually together vs blue tape I still have my ¾” spacing between the HDS-8 and the glass. I hope this clearance will allow for movement when traveling spot to spot. You could mount it on the left side of the dash but the window support was in the way and I didn't want it in the middle. I guess I just prefer it on the right side.

Again, I am impressed with the mount and will likely get another for the bow mount. Hope the pics help with your decisions.

Thumbs up

Much appreciated. Exactly what I needed. Do you have any from the top looking down and the front?

Thanks again.
