A river Runs Through It. Jaws and Grumpy Old Men were good too.

Default Grumpy Old Men

Grumpy old men, isn't that the one where the one old boy loses his prized ice fishing pole "the green hornet"? That was a good one.

Fantastic.... Grumpy Old Men is a fantastic move. Here's the best clip of the entire movie... the "bacon skit"

The one thing that this thread really made me think about is that there aren't enough fish movies.

A Personal Favorite of mine is and old ,around 1964 Rock Hudson/Doris Day Movie "Mans Favorite Sport".Hudson plays an Outdoorsman who writes many books and recommends fishing and outdoors equipment. He has never fished or been in the outdoors in his life. He is entered in a fishing tournament by his boss and the movie is a comedy of him trying to fish, camp and uphold his life as an Outdoors Expert

Great list, Jared! Jaws is an all time classic, but the Grumpy Old Men movies are right up there. Lemmon and Matthau were quite the duo. Too bad they're no longer around.

Although not necessarily a "fish" movie, John Candy in "The Great Outdoors" I think would fit this bill. That movie always reminded me of trips to the north woods. I still love watching it. Candy is another one that left too soon.

Maybe what we need is a less serious topic to get us all excited about fishing again!

Personally... A River Runs Through It was one of the best movies I've watched in my entire life.

We will just have to wait until "A North Woods Fisherman's Story" comes out on the big screen! If you dont' get that reference... that is WalleyeCentral's very own amazing Bill Krejca's awesome book!
Thanks for the "plug", Jared, I keep waiting with phone in hand for the Hollywood producer's call. Maybe I should have thrown more sex into the story!
