Can't disagree with any of that Suntracker - but this thread only gave 2 choices! lol...

The 7MM ballistics do dwarf the .30 cal ballistics though until you get up over 200-210 grain bullets. And the 308 is not the 30 caliber I'd look to for some 210 Bergers.

But yeah, there is a reason the 6.5's have become popular. Beats them both.

Except Hornady is dropping all their A-Max bullets! In truth though the difference in diameter and BC between the 7mm and 30 caliber is so small that to the hunter within 400yds it doesn't really matter enough to worry about.

They're not exactly dropping the A-Max, they are replacing it with a bullet with a different plastic nose. The plastic in the original nose could melt somewhere before it got to 600 yards and that's important to match shooters.

eld-m is the new amax with the eld-x being the hunter.
