Running bow mount in rough water
Popping my post cherry here! So I recently got into a reata, love the thing but plenty to learn as I'm coming from an older tin boat that was ok to beat on... First question - any concerns with running my minn Kota bow bount in rough seas (2-4')? Don't want to damage anything. I like using it to keep a straight heading while trolling with the kicker my main power. Previous owner had it installed, seemingly by the book. Thanks!

There shouldn't be any problems. People routinely run bow mount trolling motor in waves big enough that the prop comes out of the water between waves.

North,
Now and then, waves can roll over the head of a trolling motor without damage. Enjoy the boat. Be safe |
