Default safe ice

has anyone been ice fishing yet in the northern part of illinios and southern wis. yet? is it safe?

Was ice fishing at Guttenburg, IA yesterday and north of Prairie duChien, WI - there is barely enough ice - drill your out to anywhere you intened to fish - less than 4 inches of ice then don't go! Chuckles

Seen guys fishing the channel in Delevan. I would not venture on that yet. Geneva is making ice, still not safe yet.

Remember as our DNR says - NO ICE IS EVER SAFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any time that you venture on the ice, remember this statement and modify your behiavor accordingly.
