Excellent point. The reason you buy a pro kicker is that it is exactly that. A purpose designed trolling motor built to stand up to the task. A small horsepower tiller motor designed to push a 12' aluminum boat is not designed to withstand the pounding they get hanging off of the back of a large, high horsepower boat. The brackets on these motors have not only been prone to breaking tilt support pins, the castings themselves break causing potentially hazardous situations. There are plenty of these motors laying on the bottom of lakes across North America. Spend your money wisely.
