There is no cable with four wires. There is a cable with three wires and another cable with five wires. The function of the wires is explained in the owner's manual. If you buy marine electronics, and the device has a cable coming out, and there are individual color-coded wires in the cable, you can generally count on the owner's manual to explain what the function of each wire will be. As I recall, in some of the printed manuals for the HDS devices the explanation of the wire color codes was in the form of an addendum, separate from the bound manual. You can also get the manual in digital form as a PDF file.
