Default lowrance 520 ?

I want to have the unit default back to my settings after it is powered down. Now, it goes to the gps functions when powered up and I want it to start up on the sonar with the settings that I like. Can this be accomplished?

Smile Do you have the latest software?

I believe it can if you have the latest software version which is 2.5.
Check the software version on your unit.
Here is the link to Lowrance software updates:

There "may" be a workaround to accomplish this, but according to the manual for the 520 (c) on page 48, it says: "To turn on the unit, press PWR. As the unit powers up, the Map Page is
displayed first. To switch to the Sonar Page, press PAGES, select SONAR
and press ENT."

(Taken from: (http://www.lowrance.com/upload/Lowra...461_120706.pdf)

It's been a while back since I had a 520 myself, but it seems like I remember it always powering up the Chart/Map page and I'd have to switch to the sonar page as described above! There are some awful smart and brite WC'rs on here though that may have a workaround to get the results your wanting!

Good unit overall though, best of luck!

Thumbs up Hwaker is on the right track...

Hawker is on the right track.

Press Power to turn on the unit as you say the "Map Page" is displayed. To switch to the "Sonar Page", press "Pages", select "Sonar" and press "ENT".
Now if you Power Off the unit it will start back up on the Sonar Page.
I also believe if you change other settings (Sensitivity, etc) and Press "Enter" then Power Off the unit upon Power Up the settings will be there as you left them.
Give it a try.
I did just now and it worked for me.

Basically hit "Ent" before shutting down and the unit should Power Up with the settings you had.

I don't believe there is a way to set up "walleye571's settings" and have them appear should you shut down after hitting "Ent" on a different setting.

Maybe as Hawker said someone has figured out a way....
