Just the usual ear infections, have to keep them trimmed of excess hair and clean them regularly.

My young pudel pointer, which is somewhat similar, is already showing a predisposition to ear infection without even adding swimming, bathing or rain. Getting her used to regular cleanings now.

What a great dog for family and hunting. The ears are not bad if you dry them after swimming use a cleaner (forgot what the vet recommended) and keep them clean after the field.. Worth the effort for a dog that will hunt its heart out for you.. By the way watch the summer off season just a little look and you will know..

Not the same breed ...but similar issues..
SEE your VET! We have always had Springers and they can have their share of ear problems. We make sure we keep washing their ears religiously with an ear cleaning solution that we got from our Vet...and treating them regularly with an anti-biotic that we also got from our vet. |

Best all around dog ever!!!! Incredible drive will hunt its heart out. Also great around house and with the kids.. But to the point keep the hair around ears and under the ears short MUST keep the ears clean and DRY.
Dont forget to trim the paws tend to collect burrs. |

I have been using Epi Otic for more than 15 years to clean my dogs ears. Even clears up infection if its gets to that point. I cant say enough about how effective this product is at maintaining dogs ears.

Wonderful dogs!!! Hunted all day then wanted to curl up with the kids...Ears can be a problem MUST be kept clean and hair short. When they start scratching ears you can bet its the start of a problem. Keep them dry and if duck hunting dry them again..
