Next 'ski rod...

Looks like my local purveyor of fine fishing equipment is having a sale in the next few weeks and I'm in the market for another Musky rod. My current selection is as follows:

SC 8' Mojo Musky MH w/Abu Toro Winch 50 - Great for med sized baits, spinnerbaits, topwater..

Fenwick 8.5 ft Hvy Elite Tech Muskie Glass Trolling Rod w/vintage Diawa Millionair 6000


Now I need something for large jerk and swim baits. Double 10's etc. They have a NaCL 60 HS in stock that I like, just not sure of the rod.

Also in stock:

SC Triumph 7.5' hvy, fast action.

SC Premier 8' & 8.5' hvy, fast action.

I believe you can cast further with the 8' but as I'm 5'5" tall, will the extra length be an issue for JB?

Or.. I could always get both (one now and one in the fall)...

look at the Shimano Compre rods. They are priced quite reasonably and perform well. they would pair well with the Abu you are looking at. The longer rods should not be an issue with your height. Like anything else it just takes a little getting used to if your not using longer rods yet..

I just picked up a Legend Tournament Musky 8'6 for throwing the large stuff, recommended from several people. I also run the Premier ProGlass for trolling

Picked up a Abu Toro NaCL 60hs and a Legent T Jerkbait rod (XH 7'6") today.

The next sale will include a 8'6" like yours.
