They(sheepshead) are all over the south end of lake Michigan, saved many days when the coho and smallies were not biting.

The only fish I truly do not like catching is saltwater catfish, they slime the line, their lips are like leather, getting them off the hook is annoying and there is always a chance to get stuck and their brittle spines shatter with a painfull sting(venom) leaving 100s of little bone shards in the wound, fun stuff.

Common occurrence when perch fishing during the the spawn season (April).

Ahhhh. ....the famous Gafftop. And folks think that a northern pike is slimy....they have nothing on a Gafftop.

Default Saltwater Catfish

Nasty critters for sure, but the tail portion is good bait for tarpon and sharks here in Charlotte Harbor. Had a HUGE, HUGE hammerhead eat one right at the boat yesterday, no more than 5-10 feet back. Only on for a second, but what a thrill. Longer than the 8.5' beam of boat. Old WC member TBOMN and I just looked at each other in shock before we could say a word.
