It may very well end up being a prop issue, and he said he does have all the props there if that is the issue. It'd be great if that is all it is.

We do have non ethanol available on the water, it's currently $3.45 a gallon...e10 gas on land here is $2.11. Quite the price jump. I've been told that e0 is best, but e10 is fine too, but to stick with one, don't switch back and forth. Not sure how much truth there is to that, was told phase separation is a risk when switching back and forth.

I don't know why that would be true. I can imagine that constantly change between E10 and E0 would mean constant relearning of fuel trim algorithms in the computer controlling a closed loop fuel injection system. That would be due to the 3% difference in energy content/gallon between the 2 fuels. An open loop fuel injection system or a carburetor system shouldn't have a problem with it.

With respect to fuel.,
Virtually all modern engines can run unleaded up to 10% ethanol added and back again to 0 if desired.

Many of us frequently switch from unleaded 0 ethanol to 10% ethanol and back again through the season.

Really no fuel issues by doing this with the fuel system and engine.

Good luck

I have 150etec on an 1850 Tyee. I run a 19 pitch Viper on mine and turn 5400 rpm and run 47 mph with 2 adults and loaded for fishing. Seen 50 before on the GPS with just me and my 9 year old son with a half a tank of gas.

What kind of tach do you have? If you're running a BRP I-Command or ICON tach your RPMs are correct. If you have a "System Check" tach it's very possible you are not seeing correct RPMs. This can be verified with the laptop and service software. If you are using Lowrance electronics you could install a NMEA2000 network and check your tach against the RPM displayed on your Lowrance. Then get the height correct and go from there. You are doing a smart thing in changing servicing dealers. Nothing better than working with a dealer who is switched on and knowledgeable.
