Default Kenora Walleye Open

Curious if anyone here is going to participate in the kenora walleye open this July 1st and 2nd.
This will be my fist year fishing it and also first time fishing LOTW.

I fished it last year for the first time. I was very impressed with how everything was ran - definitely a top notch venue. This was my first time fishing LOTW as well, they got about 6" of rain last year just days prior to the tournament. Prefishing we could not find any under 18". The smallest prefishing was a little over 5lbs. Come tournament day we really struggled and caught no over's both days. The Walleye were deep - over 28'. They were very temperamental, we had to fizz every fish including the ones caught in 15' - might have had something to do with all the unstable weather. I'm not sure at this moment if I'll be attending this year's tournament yet... I have a previous commitment, should know in the next month or so.

Awesome, thanks for the info! Sounds like it's going to be a good time. I've never fizzed a fish before so a lot of new experiences to be had so I'm pretty excited. I have watched some YouTube tutorials however, so should be alright.

Re: 15 feet - This maybe supports my theory that depth for bends changes, and is probably dependent on air pressure. That is, the depth where bends occurs fluctuates, dependent on the present and recent weather.

Could it be possible that the 15 feet fish could have just come onto a hump from a deeper depth and not quite adjusted their air bladders yet? Not really sure how that all works so just curious.

Much more likely the correct explanation.

ANyone else going to be participating in this tournament. Tips for fishing LOTW are always welcome aswell. Preferably near kenora as I don't have a big boat and won't be venturing too far.
