rew suggested rewrapping the winch strap to the bottom of the winch. in yrs past I have done this only after raising the winch as high as it would go and still not be enough. it does work but if you do this you need to adjust the winch anyway to keep the winch from pulling down. I would only do this if I couldn't adjust the winch up enough to move the strap off the roller. but if you cant adjust the winch up and reverse the strap it will be pulling down instead of in a straight line, or close to a straight line.

Pulling down IMHO is not such a bad thing! In fact I added a retractable tie down to pull the bow down on my Ranger Reata 1850! A little extra security!!

As long as it pulls forward as well !!

I agree having an extra strap pulling down and forward is a good thing. but if the winch is at to much of a downward angle its hard to winch the bow all the way up against the roller.
