I put a 17p 4 blade Trophy Plus on mine. This was before the X-7 Spitfire came out. I could tell a big difference in performance from the 18p Vengeance that came with my boat. It hooked up a lot better and didn't blow out when I was cornering. I would like to try a X-7 for comparison to the Trophy Plus.

I feel the same way, would love to try a 17P X-7, i have a 2012 1625 Rebel XL with a 75 Optimax, Trophy Plus 17P, holeshot is fantastic, only at 35-37 at WOT (5300 rpm). I wonder if the X-7 would give me more speed?

Ordered the Spitfire X7 17p from Jaco's today. They're out of stock but they said should ship May 15th. Can't wait.

They said it comes with a Flo-Torq II hub. Is that the same hub that comes on the new 115's with the aluminum spitfire?

Works awesome on IPS hulls...!
But we recommend a 17p (based on Lund and mercury testing). You can rev it up to 6000+ at w.o.t.
You hole shot and top end will both improve...

T Mac,

In your experience, will the idle speed of the boat slow down by dropping pitch from a 19p aluminum Spitfire to the 17p X7? It would be nice to troll a few tenths of a MPH slower with the main engine in addition to the aforementioned benefits.

Thanks.

I have a 2016 1775 impact with 115 4s Merc bought in March. After reading all the posts I'm tempted to call my dealer and ask for to exchange my 18 vengance for the Spitfire but with 2 extra batteries 1/2 tank of fuel me and a kicker I'm getting 46 mph at 5900 rpms with no blowout anywhere to be found (top hole). Are you guys getting any better with the Spitfire?

That's faster than mine with the x7. Iirc, I was at 43 with 2 grp 29 trolling Batts, full fuel, terror and, t8, and 2 guys. My motor is also all the way down.
Hole shot is great, turn hard, no blow out. From your #, I don't think you'll be see any improvement.

I am currently getting around 42-43 MPH at 1/4 trim up per gauge. About 5600 RPM is all I can get before it blows out. Stock 19P Spitfire. Motor in top hole.

So after reading many , many , many posts on impacts its seems that the guy at lund that puts on engines just roles a dice and what ever number comes up, that's what hole he mounts the engine on.

Then when i emailed Lund asking if i could install a 4.5 inch jack plate so i could dial in my motor height perfectly i was told that Lund does NOT recommend it because the engineers did not do any testing on jackplates on the hull and they were not designed for a jackplate.

Yes it seems a little crazy trying to figure out what hole and prop to go with. I would think part of the issue is that Mercury has recently had 3 different 115 versions. Still it's not like Lund does not sell many 1775 Impacts, in fact I gotta think it is one of their more popular boats. This stuff should be figured out by know. If prop testing has been done, post the results on the Lund webpage with hole # and prop part#. This would help both consumers and dealers.
