Default Using 2 mega transducers

Have a Humminbird Mega 12 in the console and a Mega 10 on the bow.

Questions:

1. Can I put a mega transducer on an Ulterra and on the transom?
2. Can they both be on at the same time?
3. How do I identify which is which on the network assuming I can choose either as a source?
4. If I can mount it on the bow should it be turned off when the tm is out of the water?

Thanks for any and all help!

Yes you can mount a mega on an ulterra. You can have both units on at the same time. SI and DI won't crosstalk but 2d will. Networking allows selection of any of the transducer elements on either or both units . With both on you will have to select the same 2D transducer to prevent crosstalk interference. You can assign names to your network(like bow and console) to make it easy for you. I have never had a problem moving from spot to spot with the unit still on. I do not however have a mega unit. Heat might be the only problem with the transducer out of the water. I think it will be fine but I think a call to HB to check is a good idea. Bob

Thanks Bob. The dealership is saying they can't mount a mega on a transducer. Guess I will have to go find it on the internet and show them.

Thanks. Seems like a good setup. I'll need to contact the company and see if it will work on the Ulterra.
