Sorry I don't have any suggestions for lakes, but I don't think you can motor troll in WI.

one suggestion...Hire a guide for the 1st day you are there....No motor trolling on the chain...LOTS of people though

I would suggest going up to Conover on North Twin... nice lake...hire a guide though.

buckatabon lakes in Conover are nice lakes..lacking walleyes though..lots of 10-12 inch crappies..I have fished these lakes since the early 70's..my father has a place on them

That time of year, lots of vacationers. Can be very crowded.

That is false,....

Trolling is not allowed on class a musky lakes,.....It is allowed on other bodies of water,...

Make sure you check the DNR fishing regulations for any lake you plan to fish, It will tell you if trolling is allowed,...

The only resort on the chain that I can recommend is The Chanticleer. I've been staying there on and off for almost 15 years. Great owners, decent restaurant, great bartender and the best bloody Mary I've ever had. It's also centrally located on the chain so you can easily hit the lakes at both ends. For walleye fishing, I prefer Catfish, Cranberry and Eagle Lakes.

I fish the eagle chain every fall for a week. What's your price range for renting a place? Are you targeting just walleye, or planning to fish for musky also?

I can give you some tips if you want as well as places to look for rentals if you have a specific price range in mind. And yes you can't troll on the chain.
