what size kicker do you have? does that extra weight of the kicker effect the boats performance at all? Is there ample space for the kicker to be mounted?

I really appreciate your input.

My kicker is an 8. Both 2-strokes. Kicker is also oil injected so I tapped into the main gas line. Lots of room on transom for kicker.

Hey guys! I picked up my boat last night!!! I love it. I had the chance to take it for a quick spin and it was all I expected it to be. What pitch prop do you guys have on your 115's? This boat has a 21 pitch on it, but came with a 19 as well. Also what RPMs should I run that 115 merc 2-stroke?? With the 21 it was about 5200 so to me it seems the 19 would be way to much.

I dont know the specs on your motor but it kinda sounds over propped with that 21. My Suzuki 115 is happy around 6000 and I run an 18 pitch. I bought a 21 for a spare this year but it drops the rpm's to 5400 and I lose top speed. I would guess a 19 would be the perfect top speed prop for my 115. However I get the best of both worlds with the 18. I do not lose much speed by adding additional weight to the boat such as occupants.
Do some research and find out the operating RPM for that motor then prop respectively. I am guessing the 19 you have is the better choice between the two.

Wow, yours runs at 6000 RPMs? I just called the dealer and he said 5450 is tops for mine. Beings that it is currently runnig at 5250 or so, the 19 might just do it, but i am expecting it to be too high for RPMs. I'll try it this weekend.

With the 19 pitch on, see how slow you can troll the motor down to. The 19 will allow you to go slower than the 21 for pulling cranks. If you want to pull spinners you can use the bowmount,,, if you got one with the boat. Hope you enjoy the new toy.

Dealer is correct....I'm guessing the Susie is a 4 stroke, thus the 6000 rpm's. Play eith the props but 21 is to much for that 115. The 19 will be much better and will help a great deal when driving in rougher waters as it will give you better response (hole shot).

Back from the dead? How did you happen to come across a twelve year old thread?
