Default Colors of Plastics at night?

I am looking to do my first winter time night outing for eyes. It will be off the Missouri River where small rivers meet the Big Mo. Looking to fish the mouth area where the two will meet. I was wondering what you might suggest for night time colors on Soft Plastics or Swim Baits? Any information/recommendations are appreciated. Joe

Depending on clarity it could be anything from oystershell to glow chartruese.

I will usually start with an oystershell or clear with glitter flecks on one rod, and something like chartruese pepper on another to see if it's a natural or bright kind of night. Sometimes in periods of full moon or near full moon, you can't beat black, or dark colored plastics, but those are the exceptions. If I can't find anything on oystershell/clear or chart pepper then refine from there, I'm surprised.

Soft plastics at night for eyes? Hmmmmm, for whatever unknown reason, Rainbow Trout color has worked like a charm for me for years. 4" Fin-S on an 1/8th oz Kalin Darter Head is da bomb IMHO! When not ticking the bottom with that rig, a #5 Shallow Shad Rap in Shad color is my goto hard bait.

At night I would definitely go with darker colors. Purple, motor oil, black

Was out on the Mississippi last night. Both oystershell and Purple Fleck mini flukes worked best for us. Lots of fish, mostly saugers in the 12-17" range, with a few eyes in the 15-20" range. We also only stayed 40 minutes past dark.

Here's a video clip of yesterday (Sorry, Youtube kills the quality on upload). We fished a very slow lift and hold off the bottom type pitching bite.
