Default Troller's Bible Speed

Ok, so I got my Precision Trolling book today. I can't find anywhere in the book the speed that they were trolling to get these depths. I would assume that there is a set speed for these depths they recorded or am I wrong.? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Speed doesn't matter as long as you are in the basic trolling speeds...say .5 to 4mph.

That's right. And speed matters a lot.

Speed can make a difference, but not within typical troll speeds. If your cruising 4 or 5 miles plus or nearly stopped it will be different, but when i troll between 1-3.5 or so I follow the book to a tee and see the same dive depths. Now, speeds impact on triggering bites, yes....matters a ton!

Speed will make a difference for leadcore, but i dont have a ton of experience and can't help ya there if you're pulling lead.

Speed will also impact the lure action, just not the depth if you stay in normal trolling speed range.

x2 on the speed, and yes the speed does matter.

Like others have posted
Speed for a crank baits doesn't matter (as long as your in the range of 1-4 mph)
it's the amount of line out that sets the depth

Now trolling with lead is a whole different story
it's very speed dependent
Think of it as free falling. the faster you go the higher it stays, slow down it sinks
