10 day forecast shows exactly 2 days of MAYBE over 45 degrees for highs. Water is still cold, but receding a bit.

I agree with the above poster...it's a bit behind this year..but all that can change in a HURRY with one warm front.

Good new is some walleye are in the river. Water is very high but growing up in Maumee/Perrysburg has its advantages. The high water spots hold the walleye and keep most people out of the river. Today I was able to produce three walleye in about two hours. Lots of junk in the river floating so be careful if you go out. Water is very high and going up. I would use extreme caution if you are in a boat past Orleans Park.

Goin up Monday, where is the best place to put in with your boat? There is only 1 spot that I know of, its over by the yaht club. Is there any place else I can put in, and is there anywhere else in the river, I could fish on a boat, besides the normal places in maumee/perrsburg. Thanks

Brad

Brad,

Best place with a ramp and a dock is Maple Street in Perrysburg. It does not have a great deal of parking. Perrysburg tries to hide this ramp and direct people to Orleans Park. That ramp has no dock and in high water is not an option. Depending on the size of the boat you are in you could also put in in Walbridge Park at the Zoo or in Rossford at the marina.

As for a location: Most of the time it is in all the usual places.
High water and in a boat you want to work different areas around the island across from Orleans Park. Think outside the box and you may be surprised the results. Normal walleye locations - points/pools and bars that slow down the fast current.

Again, be careful the water level is very high and will for sure rise even more with this week and more rain.

went up yesterday,(3/31) in a boat. Cought or limit in about 2hrs, I had 2 other guys with me (3 total). We probably snaged 20 more fish, no lie. So the fish are in the river, it just up to mother nature to help out a litle bit. Water temp was perfect it was around42-43 all day long. Well GL everyone, I am heading back up there next monday, I will post and let you guys know whats going on.

Across from Orleans park around the island. went today at 3pm and was home by 6pm with four nice males cleaned and boat back in the garage. Most guys around me in boats were putting fish in the boat.
