Live bait rig?

Watched a TV show (Big Fish 365) last weekend and they were musky fishing with suckers and one single hook.

I gave up live bait years back because of gut hooking, but these guys seem to be lip hooking with their rigs, single hook attached to the nose of the fish by a rubber band.

Has anyone used this rig and if it actually works, is there a step by step tutorial on how it's rigged?
