Default ICE out last night

With the warmer temps and the extremely high winds in Minneapolis last night and today, several local lakes had their ice go out over night.

If the temps stay up, more of the lakes will not be far behind. Very early ice out for these lakes.

Take care

The caps on ICE made me think you had a visit from the Feds.

I drove from the Metro up to Outing this AM and all the lakes from Mille Lacs up looked to still be completely iced over. Quite a contrast in 100 miles. Not that theres good ice up there, just ice.
I didnt see anything or anyone on any lakes (which is probably a good thing.

With this wind, the ice would be coming up on the east shore of Mille Lacs if there was open water for it to get moving. Its really blowing out there today.

After yesterdays rain, the lakes around here today(near Rice Lake, WI) looked like groomed hockey rinks. Don't know how good the ice actually is, but sure looks like a giant polished mirror.
