Default CenterHill Lake TN

Fished CHL this past week. Lake level is the highest I've seen in 3 years. Water has a stain on it due to the massive amount of run off from the rains. Lots of junk floating throughout the lake. With the draw down the last 3 years or so, due to repairs on the dam there has been alot of growth on the shoreline some of it has flooded, when they finish the work on the dam and bring the lake back up to normal pool(hopefully this year) the fishing for years to come is going to be FANTASTIC. I'll be back in the fall. Did catch some LM Bass, along with nice SM Bass. No Walleyes, although a source I trust told me of two local's who boated 14 Trophy Walleyes 5-8lb+ recently, he saw the pictures.

That looks like a pretty lake. I should add it to my list of lakes to visit as it within striking distance from home for a 2-3 day trip. I would imagine you were pulling cranks when you caught the bass ? Lose much gear with all the debris and growth ? How are folks fishing for walleyes.....planer boards ?

Add it to your list along with DHL. CHL is approx 3-3.5hrs from you in Cumming. Many TVA/State campgrounds with ramps. I did not snag up, mainly long lined cranks. the winds will move the debris back along the shoreline. Right now the issue is the dirty water coming in from feeder streams and rivers due to the massive amount of rain recently. The Walmart in Cookeville has outstanding lake maps availiable...also see my thread about lake maps. In the past we have run two boards out the sides and two long lines straight off the back. Their are Trophy Walleye in this lake, along with BIG LM/SM. I had lunch with Golden Eagle on Friday and he told me of two fisherman that caught 14 Trophy Eyes 5-8+ lbs recently...He saw the pictures.
The pic's of my sonar unit are coming out of 80ft water up onto a mid lake gravel bar 15-20 ft deep about 5 acres in size. The bar is surrounded by deep water. I pointed it out to Golden Eagle on the map, it one of my favorite spots.
