The reports that I've read say that it has been going strong for a few days.

My buddy and I went down tonight for about 2 1/2 hours and toughed it out through the rain. He caught 2 jacks each about 20 in and that was it. Just glad to be fishing though.

What is the best place to go for boat access, if that is possible?
I'd like to be able to anchor or control drift if that is possible.

You'd be better off anchoring and staying in one spot. Imagine a Wal-Mart parking lot on a Saturday morning with lots of people standing in-between the cars...that's what it looks like down there these days. If you try to control-drift fish there...you'll not be making too many friends.

Depending on how big your rig is, you would likely be best to launch at the Maple St. launch in Perrysburg.

Be careful moving around out there...lots of gravel bars and BIG boulders that eat lower units.

Fishing slowed considerably over the weekend with that big front. Should improve as the week goes on, but I think a lot of the fish will be on their way out of the river this week.

Based on what I know of a friend that boat fished the river - in many places, you must have a sharp knife handy in case you need to cut anchor - you may only have seconds if there is a need.

Always anchor off the bow, no exceptions on the mighty Maumee. Rough on props.
