Default Motor Lifting Eye

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a 2008 75 HP 4S mercury that I'm mounting on a boat. The owners manual gives a mercury part number for a lifting/flywheel puller with eye attachment for lifting. There is a cast eye on the motor already that is part of the motor.. Can I use this cast eye for lifting this motor ? Thanks for any help.

If th eye is the one I am thinking it is towards the rear of the block. The motor will be very unbalanced and hard to handle. I purchased a lifting ring for my 135 Opti off of Ebay for $16. To bad i is not universal I would let you use it. Maybe someone her has one they will rent or borrow to you. Having the right tools make work faster and safer.
