Default Biggest boating regret?

I had bought a Ranger 681VS new in 1998. I sold it in 2008, dumbest thing I have ever done, by far! Should have kept it forever.

I expect that at the time, you had a good reason to sell the boat.

Remember, wishes, needs and wants change as the years go by.

Be safe

What he said! I call it stations in life. I've only regretted one decision I've ever made in life and it had nothing to do with the sale or purchase of an item. Boats are tangible. They make new ones every single day.

Biggest boating regret: In 2008 I got irritated about $4.00 a gallon gasoline and decided to sell my walleye boat and stop spending two months per year on out of state fishing trips with related mileage driven and motel bills. I also got rid of my 13 MPG Ford and bought a 21 MPG Tacoma.

Since then I have avoided spending $5,000 (easily) per year but I wish I had kept that boat.

In 2005 I bought a 1976 Carver cuddy cabin with a hardtop to fish lake Michigan. I spent more time fixing that POS than anything. After the last straw broke I sold it for a descent loss and have since sworn off EVER buying a boat with an I/O. Too much too break.

Hello Dutchboy: The grass must have looked greener on the other side. Everybody makes mistakes. Live and learn. Don't let it get to you. Keep on fishin. Good Luck . O - R

Thus far my only regret is that I wish my boat was wider.

Not being able to afford and have storage space for a 14 foot aluminum with a 25 hp for small lakes, a 17 foot fiberglass for river and medium lakes, a twenty foot fiberglass for big water, and maybe a little Jon boat, a canoe and maybe a center console for other stuff. I will say that overall I have been happy with the boats I have had for the times and places I've had them.
