Default Grady Whites?

Anybody running one of these boats? I'm looking at the 20'4" and/or 22'6" hull. We're not sure on the model, either the walk around (208,226/228) or duel console (205,225). FW and myself are going to look at these two models next week.
Looking to use it here at our lake cabin on lake mille lacs. Currently running a Ranger, but looking for more of a family fishing boat, now with the kids and the grandkid fishing. I know I will lose some fishability (structure fishing), but still love the open water trolling and these boats look to offer that.
thanks

I have fished out of a 22 Grady white and they are wonderful fishing machines.

You and your family will love it.

You will enjoy the ultra dry ride when the big water kicks up and the wind and waves are a blowing. That big curved down bow just simply keeps the water off of the boats occupants.

Good luck

Yes I have one.

the first thing I noticed when I stepped into it was like I was stepping onto a concrete floor.

Its built that soild.

The reputation of Grady White is well known.

Mine is a 1995 and I will be buried in it if I have my way

If you have any questions I will try to help.

I fish in my buddies 208 Adventurer. Solid boat and great on open water. Great ride and handles big water with ease. Rangers etc are not in the same class as a Grady. They are made for the Ocean. Go to a website called the hull truth and talk with the Ocean boys.

PJ, what size motor do you have on your 208? Seems a lot of these GW are under powered.

I have a 208 Adventure with a 200hp Johnson on it and it goes just fine.

Gradys are built for comfort and durability, not speed. They are heavy, , but if powered within reason near max, they can get around just fine. The personality which buys a Grady is not the personality which pushes the throttle all the way forward as a matter of course.

BCLII, Look at the Grady Tournaments, excellent family type boats.

Esoxchaser thanks, besides the WA, we are looking at the Dual Consoles models which have been switched (2011) from the tournament to the freedom series.

You have good taste.
Here in the Miami Beach area Gradys have a cult following. I still see 30 year old Gradys running around on the water. If you like the style of the Grady there are at least a 1/2 dozen other boat factories that make the same kind of boat.
Gradys are expensive to run. Because they are so heavy, they burn a lot more fuel than tin boats. They have a deep V hull with lots of deadrise which gives a smooth ride, but that design is not fuel efficient. Deep V hulls burn a lot more gas.
The walk around model will give you more protection from the elements in the early spring and late fall.
The cabin in the walk around model is a great place for dry storage. On tin boats, there is never enough dry storage areas.
