Default Tying mono to lead core

I am looking for a easy knot to tie mono or fireline to lead core
in low light or cold weather conditions.

The best way that I have seen to connect lead core to mono is to pull about about 2 - 3" of the lead from the lead core line. Cut the lead off. Insert the mono into the now hollow lead core wrapper. Put super glue all around it. I have done this for striper fishing and it is a very strong joint.

Another alternative is to do that, and then tie an overhand knot in the portion of dacron with the mono inside it. Then glue it.

I use back to back uni knots myself, harder to tie but it's what I have faith in.

With either Fireline or Mono, I just use 2 overhand knots - no glue. Tested many times, and have fished it for several years, never had one pull out.

I've had success tying an overhand knot in the mono or fireline before inserting into the dacron. Then as stated I've tied an overhand knot in the dacron with the leader inserted in TWO different places. Extra insurance!!
