Ranger 621VS ~ gas filler crack issue

Has anyone ever heard of an issue with Ranger boats having very small crack in either the glass or the jell coat near the gas tank filler? A seller of a boat is showing a small crack maybe 1/2" and he's not sure if it's in the lower part of the jell coat or the surface of the glass. He says he spoke to Ranger about it and they said there was an issue at one point where the installers would over-tighten the nut that holds the filler in place and over time a hairline crack would develop due to the stress. They claim it's completely harmless and in no way is a structural issue. Just aesthetics. And again, when the cap is in place, it's almost unnoticeable.

You may want to talk to ranger yourself. Always good to here it from the horses mouth oneself. Its probably not an issue, but you yourself need to be clear with ranger. When you call give them the hull ID #, they'll know.
