Arm rest are nice when making a long run.
If you are in and out of the seat often, just fold them up and out
of the way.

I run a 1890 Warrior Tiller and it gives me a sense of security with my kids in the boat. It gives them a little something extra to hang on to which is nice. If I still had a windshield boat I'm sure I would have a set on the seat on the bow.

I have them on both front seats. I rarely use them. Sometimes if we are just out for a pleasure cruise or have a long boat ride to get somewhere, I might put them down, but otherwise, they seem so just take up space. My wife, on the other hand, always has them down and uses them a lot. They were on the boat when I bought it. If I had the choice....I would have them....because my wife likes them!
