I WILL BE GOING UP TO THE CHIP IN MAY AND COULD USE ANY POINTERS YOU CAN GIVE. SUCH AS, WHEN DO THEY SPAWN UP THERE? WHAT KIND OF PRESENTATION SHOULD I BE USING, WITH WHAT KIND OF BAIT OR TACKLE? WHAT ABOUT NIGHT FISHING? WHERE AND WITH WHAT LURES OR PRESENTATION. ANY INFO WOULD HELP. i HAVE ALREADY STARTED BUYING STUFF FOR UP THERE, HOPE I GET MY MONEY'S WORTH.

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP OR COMMENTS.

Fishing in May on the chip can be really good, but
I have had some tough openers there. So too early
can be risky, mostly because of weather.
Small jigs, live bait rigs(lindy Type),slip bobber
and Rapalas. Try Floating Rapalas at night on top
of humps. There are some guides that are very good
at this tactic-and if you can recognize them, try
to follow where they go after dinner. Some could be Musky fisherman. Let me know if you need any
names of Guides or whatever.

Chris,
It will be worth it-Early May can be a little
gamble because of unpredictable and unstable
weather. May can be good. I would fish with
simple presentations and rather light line. Use
small jigs if wind allows. Live bait (lindy)
rigs and slip bobber presentaions work well.
Many people have very good sucess casting Rapalas
over the top of humps-usually as the water warms.
There are guides that fish at night using Rapalas-
they do well and not many people fish at night-
so not much competition. DON'T GET LOST-ALL THE
ISLANDS LOOK THE SAME AFTERWHILE. Any questions
I can get more info.
