Griffy:

I have only been to Brushy Creek once, and that was last summer. I took Cory Wells from the 70's rock and roll group Three Dog Night there for about half a day, It was bright and hot. Caught a few bass. I heard there were some 17-19 inch walleyes taken there this winter in pretty good numbers.

I would try Fire-ball jigs and minnows as well as jigs and Power Grubs for walleyes along the rip rap by the dam. Also try throwing some crankbaits.

Don't forget about the panfish, both crappies and bluegills. Hard to beat small jigs and Power Tubes or jigs/minnows. I would definitely have something under a bobber while casting something else.

Jim Orthel at Dome Bait in Ventura, IA might have the best info around. Call him at 641-829-4418, and please let us know how you do. Post it right here if you would please.

Good luck.

Best Fishes,

Bob Jensen

Fished from 3:00 pm till 5:00pm today . My 4yr old boy Caught one 18" male. I lost on bigger eye at the boat and missed one. Rip rap along the east side in the mid lake area. Minnows. I might go to clear lake tommorrow if the weather is right. If not I might head back down to brushy. "COMA"

nothin' doin' at brushy on Sunday. there were 4 other boats out and none reported any bites. strange weather, although quite a lake. we drifted old road beds with fireball types with crawlers or twisters in 18 to 25 ft. also threw beetlespin types in brush in shallower water and still nothing. looking forward to trying again when weather straightens out! thanks for the tips!
