West Okoboji

Hi all,

I plan to be fishing for bass (Large or Smallmouth) on West Okoboji Mother's day weekend. I have never fished the lake before, but have been doing a little research. (Thanks for the help Bob!)

Any advice on places to hit?

Also, can anyone tell me if there is a bait shop or someplace near the lake to check on latest conditions and get some advice?

Oh-shucks is on the south end of the lake right off highway 86 just go west at the 71/86 stop light you cant miss it also, go to www.exploreokoboji.com they have local fishing report there. This time of year I would recomend big spirit over west for smallmouth. Largemouth can be good in and around the canals this time of year on west though. I live in spirit lake so I do know a little about these lakes-Ripper
