Default East, West Okoboji, Big Spirit & salellite lakes fishing report

Walleyes are being taken off the docks in the evening or early morning on lighted slip bobbers & leeches. Trollers are also picking up walleyes trolling Crankbaits after dark. Wading fisherman are casting jigs with 3 inch power grubs. The daytime walleye bite is slow. Work Northland Rainbow spinners with leeches or crawlers over the weeds. A few walleyes are taking Frenzy Crankbaits trolling the lakes basin. Smallmouth are along the east shore in 6 to 10 feet of water.
West Okoboji is fair on daytime walleyes, Roach rigs & leeches or Crankbaits. A good night bite is still going on. Lots of largemouth on emergent weeds & smallmouth on rock piles.
East Okoboji is fair on walleyes trolling 12 to 18 feet with Frenzy Crankbaits. Some perch being taken on rock piles. White bass & walleye above the narrows on Crankbaits & off shore planer boards..channel cat are biting above Stoney Point.
Silver Lake at Lake Park, Elk Lake & Storm Lake are producing walleyes on Crankbaits or drifting live bait.
Keep a tight line & may your aim be straight. Jim McDonnell is a professional Iowa Great Lakes Fishing Guide and outdoor writer from Royal, Iowa. 712 933-5532.
