Default FLW League Champ, Winona

Looks as though the weather played a key role in keeping the numbers down.

Numbers should be high today and for the rest of the weekend. Especially since the bait shop just re-stocked their willow cats!! Brad has had a tough time keeping this 'eye candy in stock - even at $9.00 per dozen. But hey, if the 'eyes want it - ya gotta have it!!

Looks like Tim Long got himself some of those Willow Kitties for today...nice comeback Tim!
Good luck in the final 15!

Could some one tell me how you could get into to the FLW League Championship without fishing any of the regular season tournaments. I see that they are ten or more teams from Kentucky and I can't find where they fished any regional tournament. They were none in Minn, Wis, or MI. regions. So why fish the regionals when you can go and fish the nationals. It just don't seem fair to the other tournament anglers.

Looks to me like the Finals "Qualifiers" didn't all show up for one reason or another....and they had to fill the boater spots to give the Non-Boaters who qualified, and SHOWED UP, a chance to fish.
Looks like Mark Dorn and Charlie Evans were two that volunteered their services. Kudos to the FLW for doing whatever they could to give the non-boaters that chance.

It wouldn't be a problem if the Boaters who had qualified had shown up. After-all, isn't that why you fish tournaments? To make it to the championship? I don't get it either.

I would have loved to see one of the guys that never fished as pro win! That would have been some egg that have been hard to clean up! I fish all year to lose at the Championship to someone that never fished as a boater lol Now thats a championship for the ages! Maybe they should have called up the people that fished the FLW and did,nt get into the championship? Say the 60-125 points leaders to fill the spots? Then you would atleast have pros as pros and boaters as boaters.

Who knows they might have come out even better??

That's not a bad idea...maybe they should look into that next year, if they run into the same problem.

I would think if the FLW stopped putting it's championships on the Mississippi every year they would have a much higher participation rate.

Could not possibly agree more with the above statement. Sounds crazy, but maybe rotate the fishery????
