Default Musky fishing in Ontario

I'm in the process of planning my first fishing trip to Ontario for monster muskies and looking for the best place to go. Keep in mind that my wife and my buddy's wife are looking for a vacation, not an adventure so fly-ins are out of the question. Also, we are from mid-Michigan and are planning on driving there so the closer the better. If anyone has any suggestions on specific lakes and/or lodges, let me know. So far I have looked into Eagle Lake, Loc Seul, Canyon Lake and Rainy Lake. If any of these are good, let me know as well. Thanks for your input!

Greg,
7 hours away from you is Georgian Bay, more water than you could fish in a lifetime but it fishes small. You can get around in a 17' boat with no problem.

Take a look at the picture at the bottom of picture page 5 on our website http://www.michiganmuskiealliance.org that hawg is from Moon River, Goergian Bay and is 56" and close to 55lbs.

If you want to know more I can put yo in contact with a few guys that have been there.

Todd
The wives will be looking for fishing action with the possibilities of landing a lunker just as we will. They just won't want to "rough" it, if you know what I mean. But shopping and saunas are not what we are looking for.

Northwoods,

Have you ever heard of a place called Big Eagle lodge? I checked out Century and it seems great, but I want to check on all of my options.
thanks again.

I spent a week at Andy Myers Lodge on Eagle Lake this summer. The cabins are nice, the food was excellent, and best of all the fishing was great for any species you care to chase. They bend over backwards to make sure you are comfortable and to put you onto fish. You don't have to travel far from the lodge for great fishing. Some of the biggest fish we caught were in sight of the camp. I caught a 40 lb. musky right in Vermillion Bay a stones throw from the lodge. They have excellent guides and access to dozens of other nearby lakes that get very little pressure many of which you can drive to yourself, or have a guide take you to, or fly to. I can't recommend this place too highly. It was my trip of a lifetime.
