One of the best out there for fishing deep weedlines. A favorite of Northern Wi. guides.I still have a handfull and they still have their spot in the rotation. Steve

Trust me...use it. I use them on the deep weed edges like you would use a spinner bait. I also use them when in the back of the boat and my partner is throwing at the shallow weeds. I turn out and cast to the deep water. Many times the fish will be suspending out off the weeds and they follow up and strike when the bait turns upward. If you do throw it deep, be sure to count it down a little to get it in their face. Jeff

Great post, I just bought a tackle box full of lures from a pawn shop and it had some big #3 mepps spinners in it. Can't wait for season openning (3rd week of June up here in Canada).

Mepps Lusox for muskies? I have great luck
using Mepps Giant Killers & Magnum Musky Killers, but I have not tried the Lusox yet...I think I'll give one a try for deep weedline situations, thanks for the tip. -John S.- |

The two biggest musky's I've seen came from using a Mepps LuSox,
both would have gone over 40 lbs. Position yourself on the edge of the weed bed and throw over deep water and bring it over the weeds. The big ones stalking the weed edges will follow more often than not. "Go to Win" - Ray Kennedy Musky Jim |
