Depends on where you are going, but most bait shops along the border would have them. They are usually cheaper in Canada than the US.

I would guess that someone in the Falls or in FT. Francis would have them. They've got them in Warroad and Baudette, so I would think they would be in the Falls area as well. The trout fishermen use them as well, and although there's still ice on the trout lakes it's getting closer.
I wonder if the ice will be off Upper Manitou by this weekend. I checked with a friend of mine who's in Whitefish Bay yesterday, and he say another 7-10 days over there. He says that the ice is just starting to break-up, and move around a little. I'd make a few calls before you make the trip just to make sure. The highs here for Wednesday and Thursday is suppose to be in the high 30's, with snow possible. Doug Johnson |

Thanks Doug, yea our final call is scheduled for Thurs nite for ice check. We will be travelling through a considerable amount of 'neckdown' and narrows water to get to Camp, That could be good and bad. Last year we were up on Longlegged the first week in May,however it was a warmer year then.
