Default Grand Rapids MN the new mecca for muskies

I have fished all over MN and after the MH moderator tried to shut me up before I could even talk about the Grand Rapids area. I feel its my job to talk about it. I got 4-50 inch muskys this summer and 18 fish over 45" on those small lakes. They are nice clean lakes that have very little traffic full of large muskys. Does anyone else fish these lakes?

You have a valid point, I spend almost all my time on Leech but I know there is quality water: Blandin,Jay Gould,North Star, Spider Deer and Ball Club what am I missing?

The Mississipi, Dan.

The moderator from MH is so far from being what your comments state that he should just laugh your comments off.

Nope.

This is the 4th board that I've seen your comments on GR and again you are wrong. Re-read my email. I've been THREATENED in the past that I should keep my mouth shut about MN fishing. I haven't shut my mouth yet. I am completely against what you are thinking. I'm one of the most open fisherman around about lakes, spots, lures, etc...

I really wish you would have waited for a response before you went to every darn site in the world to try to make me look bad. Oh well... Merry Christmas and if I see you out on Grand Rapids area lakes I hope you say hi. Seriously! You'll learn I'm nothing at all like you are saying I am.

Steve

I don't know what this is all about, But I can vouch for Steve in that he is a great guy and not at all a jerk about lakes or even "spots" on lakes. I didn't even know him, and last yr saw a post on here about fishing Minnetonka. When my boat crapped out on an outing he organized he took me with him in his boat. I don't think he held back any spots and even burned a considerable amount of gas. I wouldn't slam anyone at least until you know them.

P.s. Hey Steve, If you read this, I'll trade you a pig for a ride around one of those lakes up there.

GR,

I was out of town or I would have posted this sooner. Steve is a stand up guy who has a great sense of humor. Since you don't know him, you probably took what he said wrong. I don't need to see the email to know that what you read is not what he meant.

I'd like to add that I too think Steve is a great guy. He is also a very good fisherman and even designs his own lures. He gave me a deal on a fishing rod last year that quickly became my favorite rod - love those Fenwicks!

I know about the Grand Rapids area lakes and they are good, but there are many other good lakes in MN. The Brainerd, Alexandria, and Detroit area lakes are good too as is the Longville and Bemidji area lakes. Then one has to remember Vermillion. And one cannot forget the many lakes in the metro that get pounded and yet still provide great fishing opportunities. We are very fortunate to have a MN DNR fisheries dept that knows what they are doing. :)

My two cents.

Herb

What is all this about? Steve even took a group to his lake X during the Cass outing...how many people would do that? Steve shares a lot with fellow musky fisherman...sometimes even too much!!!!

Never met Cady, but he is easy and fun to rap with on-line.
Can't be all bad if he is helping others get chewed?
I also take people, freinds or foe to the very best spots I know and always hit nothing but the Hottest lakes around before I settled in on my little Island.
Nothing to hide here, most of us are the real deal and hope to meet him one day!
:)

Keep on rock'en!
