Default Power Trim/Tilt

For any of you guys who frequent marine bone yards, would you please keep your eyes open for a power trim/tilt unit for a 1986 Mercury 50HP. The rig I have never had one on it and the motor's gettin awful heavy to tilt from inside the boat these days. I haven't had any luck lookin for one online. My back would really appreciate it. Thanks

I sold a salvage 50 merc with power trim to Universal Repair. The pump was a separate unit, and the cylinders were outboard type, so it could be easily removed and applied to another motor. Try calling Darvis at 701-282-3997.

I don't know if it is the same but I have available the power trim/tilt unit from my old Merc 115hp. It was an early 70's model 1150 four cylinder motor. The motor is gone but the power trim unit worked fine.

@ Burr - I called Darvis but the unit was sold long ago. He couldn't say when he could get another one.
@ fishin4fun - Sorry but I was told it wouldn't bolt up correctly.

Thanks a lot for the replies guys. I'm still lookin.

It's been a few years since I have talked to these guys, but Trueblood Marine in Kirksville, Mo. had a huge salvage inventory of older parts. They may still be in the bussiness or maybe out, or might be able to point you to someone that has your T&T. Worth a phone call. 660 665 1710. Good Luck!!!!
