Default Southern walleye fishing

I'm a pretty decent bass fisherman that lives in the south. I fish in Tn, Al and Ga. Believe it or not, I have taken an interest in fishing for walleyes down here (yes, there are a few lakes/reseviors with a decent population). I can/have read alot of articles about fishing walleyes but all I have found refer to northern areas. My question, how different will the techniques/patterns be on our reseviors here compared to the type of northern areas refered to in the articles? Anyone that can offer tips/reference is highly welcome.

Dumb question, but I'm a pure bass fisherman wishing to expand!

ps. I have never met a fisherman here that fished specifically for walleyes. Most catch them by accident.
