Vexilar Edge LCR

Have any of you guys used Vexilar's Edge liquid crystal unit? I'm shopping for a new locator & would like an opinion from someone who used one. Are there any other units you'd recomend in the $500 range I don't fish tournements but I'm pretty serious about my walleye's thanks
