Default dipsys versus planer boards

I fish the Western Basin, and traffic can be a big problem when the bite is on. I`ve been considering switching to dipsy divers to avoid getting my planer boards run over again. Is this a good option, and do dipsys produce as well as boards?

Dipsy are great fish catchers, and once you're onto them, they are the quickest to reset of any trolling technique. The are more suited to deeper fish and really worthless when it comes to the top 15' of water. You'll probably want to keep the boards handy. Good luck.
