Default Do tournaments bring any intangibles to a community?

I believe that highlighting a large basket of walleyes caught by the winning angler(s), has the potential to bring many fisherman to the area hoping to get in on the action.

Right now many go to LBDN (subject of another recent thread) because of the great fishing and many of these anglers are tournament fishers, and those who follow the results of them (tournaments).

All those guys in pick-ups with Wisconsin licenses aren't there to go ice skating!

I don't think it only exposes the fishing potential. I think it highlights the whole potential of all available tourist possibilities. I know that I have brought my family back to spots that I have found from fishing that I knew they would have fun at. This is not only tournament sites either but other stuff along the way to my fishing destinations.

The problem is this has been beat to death the last week! Hate them or love them we all need to get along! This is just fishing people and in the world today, some might need to swallow alittle pride and stick to the master plan!

Master Plan: No matter your color, age, politial beliefs, or Relg. We are just men and women put on this earth for a short time! WE ALL need to do our very best to respect each other and the resources provided for the short time we are here!

Until someone can prove to me either way that tournaments are wrong I will respect everyones idea's, I will keep mine to myself!
