Casper, WY- The 2005 Lowrance sponsored Pro Team Walleye Circuit is going to be bigger and better. The 2005 season will consist of five qualifying tournaments and a Championship tournament. Of the five qualifying tournaments there will be two divisions (two tournaments per division), and one open tournament. All tournaments will be for three days, with only the top 20 teams with the heaviest weight from days one and two competing on the final day. Each tournament will pay 30 places, with the first place team receiving $30,000 cash. Teams that finish in the top 40 per division with points, and the top 20 placers from the open tournament, will qualify to fish in the Princecraft Championship. The Championship will pay 60 places with the top team winning $50,000 cash. Payout per tournament, awards, and championship are based on a full field of 110 teams per tournament. “Last year we had teams from twelve states and Canada compete in the new circuit. Next year we will start in April with the first ever No Live Bait Pro Walleye tournament sponsored by FoodSource Lures, and end the year with our championship sponsored by Princecraft Boats in September. We are attending 14 boat shows in CO, IA, ID, MN, MT, NE, ND, SD, UT, WA, and WY this winter promoting the new circuit. With the addition of a championship format, division and team of the year awards, FoodSource Lures no live bait tournament, limited field of 110 teams, and the support from Lowrance Electronics and the new sponsors, I anticipate all of the 2005 tournament will fill quickly,” said Billy Brenton tournament director.
Division Titles -Teams will be awarded points based on their finishes in the two qualifying tournaments. The top team per division will win $2500 cash, one paid entry into the 2005 Princecraft Championship, division title plaques, and coats for a total of $5100 in cash and prizes. Team of the Year- Teams will be awarded points based on their best four out of five finishes. The team that fishes at least four tournaments and finishes with the most points at the end of the season, will win $10,000 cash, one entry into the championship, five entries for the 2006 season, plaques, and coats for a total of $18,750 in cash and prizes. Team of the Year entries can have one substitute angler. Anglers that fish in the qualifiers are the only anglers eligible to fish in the Championship. Teams that fished the 2004 season can send or call-in entries beginning on December 7th, and new teams can enter beginning on December 15th. Deposits are $500 per tournament for one tournament, and $250 per tournament if fishing more than one tournament. Balance is due 45 days before tournament start.
