Why is there so very few teams signed up for the Detroit River event this year. I believe there are just under 60 teams signed up already and the deadline before late fees is fast approaching..
Does anyone have an answer to this? Thanks. |

I believe as of right now it is a kill tournament and still open to Canada and Ohio.

Numbers are down due to less guys coming from the Central Division to fish it. Central early bird numbers are down from 149 to 85 teams, thus less teams coming over to fish this event as their challenge.

Looks like 50 total signed up and almost half are Central teams. I think with all the other events and tours it's taking a toll on the MWC and how they have their tour structured. Their numbers are down this year and they can't even fill Spring Valley, and with the weather it might be super high water?
The Central is down and thats going kill the East for turnout of teams crossing over. Costs have to be playing a big part, weighing the cost to gain ratio has played a part. Teams in the Central can stay "home" and make the same money (unless you win) and save big money on travel. |
