Default fl 8 box

Just bought a used vex from a buddy, this is just the unit and transducer. Already bought the battery and charger. I threw it all on a 1x12 so I could use it for now. My question is, are the blue boxes better than the vex carry cases and are the round (propack cases) worth 30 bucks compared to 12 for the econo. case any insight is appreciated.

2 things. i like the blue box because i crate all of my gear and keep the crates in my clam. the geometry works well. however, when i flip the clam over and run two guys out of it, the geometry of the blue box doesn't mesh well with that of the clam. i mean that when i set it in the corner it's hard to get a good look at it and have good access to the hole or the other way around. tell your local retailer the pro packs are on-sale somewhere elso for $20 and see if you can work a deal.

Ron.
The round pro pack case not only holds the whole she-bang, but fits like a glove into a 6 gallon pail. I then stuff rags around it and can lay four 1 pound propane bottles on top of that. Keeps it pretty compact.
