Default Best Spoons for Erie

Hello ,I would like to know what type spoons everyone runs on Erie besides the stingers.Won a couple of PAs spoons at the WC get together and can`t wait to try them out.They look like a great replacement spoon for the Stingers.Stingers have been good for me, but I belive they still have a issue with the paint.Looking for other suggestions.
Thanks

Dwayne, I ran some of the Proeye(I believe that's the name) spoons from JannsNetcraft and did OK, but didn't really keep track to compare them to the Stingers. I hope to do that this season. I also have some of the Fintails to try. Dean Clifton also used the Janns spoons.
I do know I did well with the Sringers -- they are good spoons, but they did or do have a paint problem..
I know Freebyrd (who will probably comment here) caught a ton of fish on Stingers but don't know if he tried anything else.

Bob I think I tried them all. Scorpions, Fin tail (Pa's), Proeye (Janns), Krocodile (Luhr-Jensen), Coyote (Luhr-Jensen)plus others that I can't think of.
I have about concluded IF you drag the right color by Mr Walleyes nose at the right time it makes little difference who make the spoon. SO I look for which ones hold up the best, which has the best hooks and split rings, etc. Michigan stinger gets talked about more than the rest and hold up the least. I did get some new (2002) stingers and the paint seems to last longer than before, BUT the still don't last as long as any of the others I mention. The Krocodile is stamped from a fairly thick copper and holds up well but the hooks are not the greatest. The proeye from Janns being put togethers, I put heavy split rings and top grade hooks BUT the have a limited number of color combinations. I have tried running different spoons at the same time and have concluded the color makes the difference not the manufacturer.

I don't represent any manufacturer or supplier "I pay my own way".

Another vote for the Fintail here. # 101, 103, 107 & 110 did good for me out of the central basin. B.T.W. the paint really does stay on to. Hutch

I tend to use mostly brass or copper/gold color backs with red, chartruse or other bright colors. My bests this past season were;
Monkey Puke, Confusion, Boy/Girl, Superman,Water Melon, Oil Slick and the like.

The last few years, I've had my best luck on Erie using stingers. I agree that there might still be an issue with the paint. But as long as I'm catching fish, I guess it doesn't bother me as much. Up until a couple years ago, I used to have good luck with NK-28s. For some reason, they don't seem to do the trick for me anymore.
